Robert Truman Stover Jr.

Imagine if you were an alien and were given the chance to experience what it would be like to be a human on planet earth. What would you do? In the case of my Dad I think he looked at this lifetime as a chance to participate in a 68 year adventure.
He married 4 women, fathered 3 children and adopted a handful here and there as he saw fit. My dad traveled the world and even lived overseas a couple times. He played the piano, guitar, and flute to name only a few but his favorite was his tenor sax. He loved to buy things or simply gamble his money away. One day when I was a kid we were on a trip in Silver City, Nevada. On the way out the door of the old historical saloon I watched him take a huge handful of “left over” silver dollars and, while he was making his way to the door, he played one dollar in every machine—he just laughed.
Dad loved a good time. It could be the crossword puzzle at 5am in the morning with coffee and a Marlboro or a Double Scotch and a Tiparillo before turning in at night.
Thanks for the fishing trips when I was a kid and thanks for helping Mom.
For now you’ll be missed. But, one day we’ll head out to that lake again to throw our lines out to see what we can catch.
Your son, Matt.
