Sam Wheat, a successful banker, is murdered during a botched mugging but remains on Earth as a ghost. Realizing his death was not a random act, he discovers a deeper conspiracy and strives to warn his grieving girlfriend, Molly. Unable to communicate with the living, Sam enlists the help of Oda Mae Brown, a reluctant psychic who can hear him. Together, they attempt to expose the truth and protect Molly from danger, blending romance, suspense, and supernatural elements in a touching tale of love that transcends death.

Notes The film Ghost was released on VHS by Paramount Home Video on March 21, 1991. It became a major rental hit, breaking records with over 646,000 copies rented and generating around $40 million in rental revenue. Later that year, VHS sales added another $25 million in revenue. A holiday-themed re-release followed on December 25, 1993, and a widescreen VHS edition was issued on October 27, 1998. The original tape featured trailers, the Paramount logo, and standard FBI warnings. Due to the movie’s popularity, the VHS release was heavily promoted and widely stocked in video rental stores across the U.S.
