Janey Glenn, a talented gymnast and army brat, moves to a new town and meets free‑spirited Lynne. Bonding over their shared love of dance and the TV show “Dance TV,” they decide to audition together—despite Janey’s strict army‑colonel father forbidding it. As they enter the competition, they face rivalry, parental obstacles, and sabotage. Janey also develops a dance partnership and romance with Jeff. Despite being grounded and hindered, Janey escapes at the last moment to compete. In a dramatic tie, she and Jeff win through a spontaneous dance‑off.
