Henry Hill, a young Irish-Italian from a working-class Brooklyn neighborhood, is drawn into the world of organized crime in the 1950s. Working under seasoned mobsters Jimmy Conway and Tommy DeVito, Henry climbs the criminal hierarchy, enjoying the glamorous lifestyle that comes with it. But as the years pass into the turbulent 1970s, drug abuse and paranoia set in, leading to betrayal and Henry becoming an informant under the witness protection program.
