Tank Girl

R 1995 • Runtime: 104 Minutes • Action, Adventure, Post‑Apocalyptic, Sci-Fi

Set in the drought‑stricken year 2033, Tank Girl (Rebecca Buck, played by Lori Petty) lives in a commune in the Australian outback that operates the last water well not controlled by the oppressive Water & Power corporation. When W&P troops kill her boyfriend and capture her and her friend Sam, Tank Girl defies the corporation, even under torture. She teams up with Jet Girl (Naomi Watts), steals a tank, and joins forces with the rebellious Rippers—genetically altered supersoldiers—to fight back. Battling Water & Power, rescuing Sam, and toppling their tyrannical leader Kesslee (Malcolm McDowell), Tank Girl ultimately liberates the precious water resource. The film ends with a triumphant, animated sequence where water flows freely and she joyfully water‑skis over a waterfall with her ally, Booga.
